CCCS Financial Counseling & Debt Management Programs

We are a nonprofit, United Way, HUD certified financial counseling service providing services to meet your complete financial needs.  We do not loan money; we assist you in meeting your financial goals through counseling and education.  If you choose the Debt Management Plan, you can gain the cooperation of creditors, many of whom waive or reduce finance charges, over-limit and late fees.

Each year, thousands of people are confronted with overwhelming money concerns.  These problems are not always caused by mismanagement or overspending.  Job loss, illness, accident, divorce or other misfortunes can put any family in financial jeopardy.  Regardless of the cause of the problem, we can work with you and help you determine whether budgeting changes will make it possible for you to pay your bills on your own; whether you need our assistance in negotiating with creditors; or if you should seek legal assistance.  Our professionally trained counselors will consider the alternatives and help you resolve your situation through counseling, education or repayment before it affects your job, family or reputation.

IRS or Student Loans
Do you owe taxes to the IRS?  As part of our Advocacy Program in cooperation with the IRS, our counselors can establish a repayment plan, completing all required paperwork in our offices.  We can also assist you in paying off student loans or provide consolidation information.

Credit Report Review
We do not change or ‘repair’ credit (no one can), but your Credit Report Review can inform you of your rights and steps you can take to remove obsolete or incorrect information and how to build and improve your credit history.  Credit problems don’t happen overnight and can’t be fixed overnight.

Debt Management
Click here to fill out an electronic worksheet that helps you list your income, living expenses and debt.  (A paper version of this worksheet can be obtained by contacting us.) At a scheduled appointment, you will meet with a Certified Consumer Credit Counselor who will review your financial information at no cost or obligation to you.  After complete evaluation, your counselor will provide you with options and resources.  If your budget permits, a repayment plan may be worked out with your creditors. You will then make regular deposits to us and, in turn, we will forward payments on your behalf to your creditors.  We want to emphasize that all counseling is confidential and free of charge.
